Welcome to the 2015 Northwest Glaciologists web page. We are pleased to host
the event and hope you all can make it to Portland, Oregon. It's a great city (check the
NYT Sunday Travel Section Sept 13, 2015)
and the rains shouldn't start for another week or two.

Parking: Information about PSU parking
We recommend the parking structure #3,
which is on the west side of campus. It costs $9/day on Friday and $5/day on
Saturday. All parking locations accept bills, coin, Master Card and Visa for
payment. If you take I-405 (off I-5) south of the Willamette River, take the SW
12th Street exit (just after the SW 6th exit) and the parking structure is on
the left. Just be aware the 12th Street exit is shared by the on-ramp to Rt. 26
west and if you are not careful, you will be taking a drive to the coast for a
couple of miles before you can turn around.
Street parking is available and tickets can
be purchased from the nearby City of Portland kiosk machines ($1.60/hour). All
parking locations accept bills, coin, Master Card and Visa for payment. Some
spots have maximum parking times 15 minutes, others 3 hours, and if you are
lucky, even 4 or 5 hours. As I recently discovered, you can't keep buying
tickets for the same spot and your car has to be moved to another spot.
The University has short-term parking on
campus. Also meters are located on the street levels Parking Structures One and
Two. Commercial parking lots are around, to the north and east of campus, but
not as convenient as parking structure 3.
